quilting in 2017

well it has been almost 2 years since my last post i have now retired and have a little more time i have moved to another state , here are a few items i have been doing this last few years, i have a long arm and now im new to Embroidery and want to make a quilt with some embroidery on it.

Quilted by me on my crown jewel I used a crosshatch ruler and free motion to do the quilting the binding is yet to be done 

It has been to long

Wow it has been a long time since I have visited my blog so sorry a whole year it looks like I have been busy sewing I got a new quilt machine and now a new automated quilt motion to help with the fancy stitches so excited to get started here is a pic of my first project I will quilt with the new program

Moms Quilt

here is a quilt i made for my Mom for Christmas it is quite large she has asked for a king so it would drape over her queen size bed. i have a feeling it will hit the floor LOL it is the first time i have tried to make a quilt with the squares on point that part was not so bad but the half squares on the edge gave me a bit of trouble. it is not perfect but i still LOVE how it turned out.

Hexi Flower Quilt entered into a Quilt contest at MSQC

i entered this quilt into the Missouri Star Quilt Co. MSQC and there are 459 entries the top 25 votes get to go onto the next round, i do not think i will make the next round but i am in the top 30 to 40 which is awesome for a new quilter like me. here is a picture of it. but i do have it on my title photo. lol

Wild Animal Quilt

I am really getting into Sewing a lot lately and my Card making has been but on the back burner so to speak i still make a few for family and friends. The Art of making Quilts has really challenged me and i Love it.
I first made this Lap Quilt for my Mother in Law for Christmas and when other People saw it They all wanted one. LOL like that is gonna happen, But one person asked my Hubby if i would make one for his girlfriend! (Yay my first Paid Quilt) so here is a picture of it, I just finished taking it off my New Crown Jewel quilt machine (LOVE IT) no more crawling on the floor and fighting my domestic machine. I feel it turned out pretty good. it is getting the final binding on it now, that is the part where i get to sit and watch TV and sew by hand.

April sewing projects

Wow these were so fast and easy to make the jelly roll top I had done in a day and the kindle cover was done in a few hours I made a few mistakes the pattern was hard to read

Twin quilt top in the works

Here is a quilt top in the works I laid it out on the twin to measure it I plan on putting a blue border around it also a thin black border and then one of the patterns fabric still kicking around how to quilt it!

Good Morning peeps, I am wondering and i am sure it has happened to all of you, lately i keep getting these annoying comments that are going into my e-mail and moderation page this morning i had over 50! so in help to block all these dumb messages I am going to have to put back my verification sign back up. i sure hopes that stops that!

Good evening. My lovely puppy Lucy just love to chew things up My slippers my shoes she even got a hold of my Uggs. she got a pin cushion i had bought with some pins and all in it. thank goodness she did not swallow any pins. So since she chewed the pin cushion i decided to learn how to make some here are 2 i made today.

The owl pattern i got from DIY and the flower pattern i do not remember the blog name but the lady's name is Ann Leigh. thank you the pattern was very easy to follow.
